Frank, Blue and Owen

I was over halfway through writing "Another Time" when I stumbled upon this photo of three Australians from WW2 in an Australian Defense Forces' calendar. I was immediately struck by how much these three young men resembled the characters (from left in the photo) Blue, Frank and Owen in my imagination. I've subsequently wondered if other people see them the same way that I do, which is a reflection of how well I described them in "Another Time". 

It took me some time to track down the correct authorities to obtain permission to use the photo, only to find that it is in the public domain anyway. 

It is interesting to put a face to my characters - I wonder who would play them if the book is ever made into a film or TV series.
