The St Marys Hotel with Paddy's Head in the background

I recently visited St Marys in Tasmania where much of my book "Another Time" is set. The town hasn't changed much in the many years since I left there to continue my education.

This photo shows the St Marys Hotel with St Patrick's Head (Paddy's Head) in the background.

The St Marys Hotel was known as the "bottom pub" while the other hotel, which was further up Main St towards St Helens, was known as the "top pub".

If you're ever in Tasmania, I recommend a visit to St Marys - a classic example of a small Tasmanian country town. And there are plenty of good walks and climbs in the bush and hills around the town, which is also not far from Scamander. St Helens and other seaside holiday towns.
